On this page you will find my observed lesson, supervisor feedback, and cooperating teacher evaluation from my first field at Saint Anthony's in a fourth grade classroom.
Field Placement Information/Lesson Analysis:My first field was at Saint Anthony's in a fourth grade classroom. This field was intended to focus around building my confidence with working and supporting students in a classroom, beginning lesson planning skills, and developing professional relationships with teachers in the field. During this field I did a lot of observing as this was a new experience for me and further developed my skills to build relationships and support student learning. During my time at Saint Anthony's I taught two small group lessons. The lesson below illustrates just my second attempt at lesson planning and instruction in the classroom. The lesson focus was around identifying synonyms. Through this lesson plan I display my beginning knowledge of developing learning objectives, instruction plans, and assessing. I created an anchor chart to develop student understanding of synonyms and asked students to create their "swirl" of synonyms on a "synonym roll". I informally assessed student learning through their "synonym roll" creation and an activity sheet focused on identifying synonyms. As you continue to navigate through my portfolio you will discover my continued growth in lesson planning, instruction, assessment, student needs, educational theory, and creating meaningful moments for student learning. My lesson plan below was only the starting point!
